So today we found out that Matthias saw the Lanchester Gallery and changed his mind to a different choreographic work......things I picked our from his email.....
-Working on always noticing the feedback from your visual field and allowing it to be refreshed.
-Laughing at yourself even while your attentions remain serious.
-working on keeping your awareness of all of your cells gathered up with you while you travel in the loop.

Experiential Anatomy .....PH
This is my favorite lesson of the week....two lessons that really clicked with me were when we talked and experimented with the spine....it just amazes me how such a small framework can hold that much weight....and how we even balance....
The second session was todays...I am strongly interested by science and this influences the way i move and look after my body..a sheeps liver was brought in today and back at school I would always jump at the chance to dissect or get hands on with real organs.....I feel I learn so much more ....and after feeling the weight of the liver(which is a very similar size to a humans) gave a sense of the weight o my organs and how I move around with them...making me more aware while I move.....and the fact I dont notice or pay much attention to them normally....I take them for granted I guess.....
READY, AIM, FIRE!!!
First day of intensives today..... definitely challenging, but very enjoyable. Matthias himself is a very complex and intellectual thinker...meaning that scores have many layers to think about all at once. At the start of the day i'd thought I'd never get it, because I would think in depth about one layer of the score and forget the others....but apparently it comes with time...!! Hope so!
My favorite score was Ready, Fire, Aim.....where we would prepare like a gymnast....run and perform a move with all our 100 trillion cells....alll concerned with getting the perfect score/move! .....3 moves performed across the space in one go and the scores varying in opposite ends of seriousness, shapes, intensity etc...

The brain: the mystery of consciousness-
"Consciousness is life itself"is Consciousness what we see? an activity of the brain?
is unconsciousness a heartbeat?
"Authorship of voluntary actions can also be an illusion, result of noticing a correlation between what we decide and how are body works."
Why does Consciousness happen/exist at all?
-the brain is a product of evolution....just as animals' brains we all have limitations.?
-own consciousness, product of our brain?
-that every moment of consciousness is a fragile and precious gift...(this being my favorite concept....living for every moment.....living for every movement....being in that movement wholely).
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR DANCE PRACTICE.....THAT OUR MINDS ARE OUR BODIES?
HOW CAN ALL OF ME BE VISIBLY BE MOVING, NOT JUST INTERNALLY....MY MIND, CONSCIOUSNESS ??

The poem I have chosen to work with in improv..... the concepts intrigued me...it reminds of the unnoticeable sounds of the world which capture our hearts even though they may never surface enough for us to comment on them.....

I got Matthias Sperling! Yes...as you can tell I am very excited, this being because I have a similar outlook that a dancer's body and mind work alongside each other......and enjoy the science Consciousness and how it effect your movement.....
